Phi Sigma Sigma's National Philanthropy is the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, which encompasses the National Kidney Foundation. We raise funds for the National Kidney Foundation, as well as Relay for Life and other charities through several different philanthropic activities.

Jail n Bail

When you see the Phi Sig ladies' giant wooden jail out on the Cannon Greens, be sure to come by and put one of your favorite Phi Sigs in jail! How does it work? Just make a donation (say, $1) to put your friend in our jail. That person must then raise twice the amount of your donation to be freed from the jail. It's a lot of fun, and we host this activity several times per year.

Rockathon
Cracker Barrel lends us a few of their rocking chairs for this fun and silly philanthropy event. Basically, we spend our time rocking away outside the Commons in hopes of gathering donations for our philanthropy.

Snow a Phi Sig
As our newest philanthropic activity, Snow a Phi Sig hopes to be our most exciting event yet! Proceeds from this event will go to the National Kidney Foundation. The ladies of Delta Psi want to symbolize the elimination of kidney disease through a snowball fight. We sell two snowballs for fifty cents, or five for $1. We hope to make Snow a Phi Sig a lasting tradition on the UWF campus.

Other Activities

Spoons Full of Sugar
No child wants to be stuck in the hospital, which is why the ladies of Phi Sigma Sigma love to bring "spoons full of sugar" to the Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart. We fill plastic spoons with several pieces of candy, decorate them, and walk from room-to-room passing them out. We like to visit the hospital with Spoons Full of Sugar many times per semester.

The Hope Center
The Hope Center for Teens provides a safe home for young mothers as they try to improve their lives and raise their children. The Delta Psi sisters have recently begun to visit the residents of the Hope Center on a regular basis. We brought the mothers and their children Christmas presents and baked cookies with them at the end of the Fall 2007 semester. We plan to make many more visits, just to say "hello" and hang out. It's a great experience for both the Hope Center residents and our sisters.
